Nice Comfy Shoes
I had these shoes or shoes similar to them back when I was a teen so it is so nice to be able to get them for my own teen now! The size is exact and they are very comfortable. They wear well and look very cute. They were originally for an Alice in Wonderland Halloween but they are used a few times a week - as they are cute and comfy.

Love these shoes .
I used to wear these shoes as a child and I was always very happy with them. So I decided to purchase a pair now. I was not disappointed. They fit just right. I wear a size 11. I have some what wide feet. There was no issue with the fit of these shoes. If you like to walk around in your bare feet these are the shoes for you. You don't feel like you have shoes on at all. I would never wear them to go hiking or to the beach . They are not made for those kinds of activities. I do wear them for the usual every day activities like going to the store, walking in the yard, doing work on the house, shopping etc. I plan to buy another pair to wear in around the house as slippers. There are two issues with this shoe. One is a little of the dye will come off at first. This wasn't a big deal for me but I don't suggest you wear them with white pants. The other issue really isn't a an issue. These shoes will stretch a little as you wear them. They do not become so lose that you can not wear them or they will fall off but it will loosen up a tiny bit. Other than those two things I will buy these again. I hope they offer some color options in the future. Update: I love these shoes. I really , really love them . However , do not buy these shoes hoping they will last a long time. My shoes are no longer fit to wear outside after having them for almost 2 months. The fabric is coming away from the shoe in the back and the sole is coming lose as well. I am going to buy another pair but I will also look for ones that are better made. Wish me luck.

Horrible odor
I needed these shoes for a costume & the color was perfect. That was it. I went by my regular shoe size & read reviews that all seemed to agree they fit true to size. When they came in, the box they came in was extremely flimsy & torn. Immediately I noticed the odor. It smelled mostly like chemicals with a bit of raw fish mixed in. I sprayed them with Lysol twice before wearing. The shoes were extremely tight but I figured since they were cloth I could try to stretch them out. I put on thick socks & wore them around the house. They were easier to wear after. The buckle was super cheap, like a thin tin & wouldn’t hold. They were the right color & inexpensive so I could make due. The odor never went away. After the night I wore them both of my big toes hurt as if someone stepped on them. I now have discolored nails and it’s been over two months. My doctor said it’s probably from then being too tight but I’ve never had this happen before. If you can go without these shoes please do.

Simple, innocent, and great for a few hours of wear in heated room or outdoors.
I bought these shoes to go with a 50's style dress that is all red. I am very tall and didn't want a shoe that props me up even more, but the style of the dress is unique and I wanted shoes that were too. I read plenty of reviews. I am only wearing these shoes for work--I am a teacher at a college and will only be in these shoes for church and work--4 hours. My feet are super sensitive to heat and cold and I wanted a shoe more fitting for HOT desert heat and a building with an AC that rarely works. The shoes were ordered half a size bigger. They are a bright pie cherry red and fit comfortably. I wear a 9-9 1/2 but ordered a 10 and am glad I did. The tops rub slightly on the arch of my foot, but doesn't hurt, I just noticed it might be an issue for people with higher arches. The buckles feel as if made from recycled aluminum tin--like the old soda pop aluminum that crumbles easy. There are no holes, it's a slip in and adjust type. I sew and might just replace them with a black buckle. They are what they appear to be and they are cute and different. I am not a collector of shoes, so I liked that these lay flat in my limited closet space and take up less room than a flip flop, but are also not a distraction. They are simple, present themselves as such, and that's perfect for a mom and teacher and church. I rec'd them really much earlier than expected! In fact, they came in before the dress! And it was projected the other way around. The did not have an off smell to them like others did. They were just perfect for me and my budget and I'm grateful they were just as others commented them to be! Love that they breathe easy too! I wanted to add this: I have since worn these shoes. We were driving up north to scout a place for the 4th of July weekend and these are perfect travel shoes. I was saving them for work, but I got compliments on my shoes. I didn't know people even cared about shoes :). They were like wearing slippers but cool and I never felt my feet get hot, sticky, sweaty, or uncomfortable. Even my 3 year old got excited when I put them on, jumping up and down, "Mommy red shoes!" And touching them. Simple and comfortable. Love them.

They're OK. Size up if you order!
My grandmother, whom was a dancer all of her life, lived in these things around the house and town. My mom always tried to sway her out of her "cheap little china slippers" and get into a more solid shoe, but Gramma would have none of it. She said they were comfortable. She loved them. I was delighted to see these ones on Amazon with a pretty floral design embroidered on, so I chose those. Gramma always had plain black ones with red soles and white interiors. She probably would have loved to have had them in all the colors I see here now. :( I bought these because I am preparing to take some Tai Chi classes after work and figured they'd be better than being barefoot on the studio floor. I saw that the size chart is in US sizes. One of the questions asked about the item is are they in US sizes or European, and it was answered US sizes... so I went ahead and ordered in 11, which is what I wear. I wouldn't have ordered them if the max size on the selection menu had been in the actual European sizes you will be getting when you order... as that would have been 41 and 41 is NOT equal to a size 11 in any shoe I have ever tried on. it's more like a 10-1/2, which my size 11 feet can barely squeeze into but not be happy in. So of course when these arrived a few moments ago, and I saw them in their little plastic baggy marked "41", my heart sank. I tried them on wearing my socks... no. I tried them barefoot and they were a lot less squeezed but still, about a half size too small... as 41s always are. *sigh* So yeah... Size up if you order... unless you're a big foot like me and there are no larger sizes. I hope to find them in an actual 42 somewhere else now. The overall quality is pretty much as I expected (given the experience my family has with these and their average lifespan with everyday, all terrain use). They are not remarkably shoddy nor are they impressively constructed. They are exactly as my mom always called them... cheap little China slippers.... only with a pretty little detail on the toes. The buckles are really cheesy- but I figure the toes will rip out and render the shoes useless from the strain of being overstuffed with my huge feet long before the sharp edges of the buckles eat through the straps. Some people commented on the smell, which I was a little concerned about, as I do have a fairly sensitive nose, but holding them about a foot away from my face, I didn't really smell anything but a very light odor reminiscent of gasoline and rubber, which seems to have aired out a lot since I have them out of the wrapper now. For the next pair I'll be sure to do better research and hopefully find someone who supplies a 42.

Comfy, cheap and really cute
I am usually a 9 - 9.5 and got a 10 and they fit perfectly. I love these shoes, they are super comfortable, like slippers, and super cheap. They look great with anything and are a great alternative to flip flops, and look a little bit more dressy! If the chemical/plastic smell from the soles bothers you just leave the shoes outside for a few hours and then wear them for a day - it will be gone after that! My pair arrived in good shape with no issues. I wore them for 8 hours around the state fair, in the stables, through the dust and the petting zoo and they kept up well. Super comfy and no problems with the buckles. I'm going to order a few more pairs for back up in a few different colours. You can't beat the price on this! The shoes are comfy and cute. They won't last forever, but for $10 what do you expect?! I recommend buying half a size or a size bigger and getting a couple of pairs together. *update 09/16/2016: I purchased another pair in dark red velvet and they are just gorgeous! I get so many compliments and they are so comfortable, I literally feel like I am walking around in slippers!

Perfect!
I used to wear Chinese shoes like these all the time, as they are the next best thing to barefoot for environments (like work) where shoes are required. Then I moved to a city with no Chinatown nearby, and I started wearing moccasins instead; but my favorite moccasin company (Taos Moccasins) went out of business and their chief competitor (Minnetonka Moccasins) uses lasts that don't fit my feet. And for the beating that they took from the abrasive walking surfaces here, they were a bit on the expensive side. So I searched for my old favorite Chinese shoes again, and amid the $20 pairs, Amazon had these ones, for $7 + $3 shipping. Score! The are lightweight, flexible, wide in the toe, have a sole that is substantial enough to protect my feet from the hot (and at times prickly) southern California walking surfaces, while still thin enough to provide ground feel. No squishy padding to let my foot muscles atrophy and to develop craters at weight-bearing points. Furthermore, unlike the shoes I had found in Chinatown in San Francisco, these ones have real (albeit flimsy and cheap) buckles, with holes in the straps, so that the straps don't slip. Yes, they stink of plastic when you first take them out of the bag. It's 24 hours later now, and they don't stink any more. Rebeccah

Shoe lover
Love the way these shoes are. Had to use the insert for my arch. The size that I wear is really a small size when it came in so I need a larger size.
