My favorite this is a tradition for my family’s hair. My grandmother used it - my mom used it and so have I. This is the best thing for curly thick hair - for when you do your wash and set. Put a little bit on and it goes a long way. Nice smooth, healthy and shiny great for thick hair. If your hair is fine a pinch literally goes a long way. Great for the flat iron and blow out as well. Natural hair growth!!

I've been using this conditioner on days when I go to the beach/pool as a conditioner/moisturizing protection for my hair. It goes on smooth and surprisingly not greasy. I usually re apply to the ends whenever I go in the water and get my hair wet. I like that it leaves my hair smooth and conditioned, not feeling stripped and dryed out (specially on pool days). This is the only time I use it, so I cannot speak as to daily use. I'm not sure I would use it as a daily conditioner. I would have some concerns as it is a bit heavy (my hair is neither thick or dry). As a daily conditioner, it would be good for those with thick wavy hair that tends to be dry. It's a good conditioner that has been on the market for a very long time.

Used to you this when I was a teenager to help keep my curls from being frizzy in the Florida humidity. So happy I found it again. Also gives my hair great shine.

Vo-5 makes my hair look healthy, shiny and calms the frizzy bits! I have super thick hair which is curly and wavy. This old school product is the only thing I can find that makes it look great. My mom used this on herself and all my sisters since the ‘60s. Yep. I love beauty and hair products and used to be a hairdresser. I have tried a ton of products but always come back to this one. It’s greasy feeling in a way, and you really don’t need a lot and you definitely don’t want it near your scalp. I damp dry my hair, put dime size in my palm and rub, then apply to the bottom 3/4ths of my hair ( hair is shoulder length) focusing on the ends. What’s left I run through the interior of the the hair in same area. I then blow dry and flat iron my hair and can get it very smooth and I’m good to go for days. My sister also still uses it but she lets her hair air dry. It makes your hair look so glossy and healthy. Also it keeps my hair from looking too big and fluffy. Only a thick haired person understands. At times I will sometimes apply a tiny bit to shine up the ends through the week. All in all it has stood the test of time. The most I Important thing is to find the balance of not too much not to little. I wish the smell was better, it’s the same as many years ago but I will always have it on hand. Recently, I did run out and used some hair care products I received in a beauty box. I thought well not too bad, until I got the Vo-5 and realized that product wasn’t doing me service at all. A little goes a long way so you won’t run out to fast.

I had almost forgotten this product existed, but after spending hundreds over my daughter’s 24 years, trying to find something that would detangle while also leaving her with shiny, bouncy curls, I noticed this. She loves it, and it accomplishes all her goals with only a small pea-sized amount for even her long, thick curls. Her hair gets lots of compliments, and she loves it! I could have spared her many tears when she was younger. Stop wasting time and money and try it!

Product is good for smoothing out hair and making it soft. Great for colour treated/damaged hair and removing tangles. Only need a small amount as too much will weigh the hair down and give it a greasy look. Smell is like the original from many years back

Hard to find anywhere anymore and I’m so glad Amazon carries this. Same great hold and scent, and you only need to use a little bit and this will last a very long time. Excellent hair product and have used this for many years.
