I recently used the 3M Automotive Refinish Masking Tape (06652, 18mm x 55m) for a car repainting project, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. This tape really delivers on what it promises. First off, the adhesion is excellent — it sticks firmly to both metal and plastic surfaces without lifting, even in slightly humid conditions. I was impressed that it held its place during sanding and light prep work. The crepe backing is flexible enough to make tight curves and edges easy to tape off, which was a big help around the headlights and trim. When it came time to remove it after painting, it peeled off cleanly without leaving residue or damaging the fresh paint. That’s a huge plus. It also resisted bleed-through better than cheaper brands I’ve tried. Whether you're doing a full repaint or smaller touch-ups, this tape is reliable and consistent. I’ll definitely keep a few rolls of this in my garage from now on. Highly recommended for both DIYers and professionals!
