Magpul RLS Rifleman Loop Two Point Standard Rifle Sling

I have tested many slings and use them exclusively as shooting support as taught in the Project AppleSeed events. There is nothing wrong with the old classic web sling until you need a longer one for an AR style rifle platform. This one fits the need for that. Its quickly adjusted to rifleman style in seconds if I want while also allowing for the more modern AR style combat shooting style where the strap goes around your neck and needs to be longer. All my AR style rifles get this sling. Nice job Magpul.

Comfortable wrapped around the arm to keep the rifle steady. Easy to adjust the length. No buckle noise to spook the prey.

I don't use this as a fancy shooter's sling. I just needed a basic strap sling that is quickly adjustable for different carries. This works great. The webbing is strong with a cross weave so it should be durable and not prone to tearing. It's quick to adjust but doesn't adjust on it's own. You have to try to do it. It's long enough to be a shoulder sling, 2 point front carry sling, 1 point sling....it is pretty versatile. The material is soft enough to be flexible and comfortable. But it's stiff enough that it doesn't bind up in the swivels if it's being pulled to the side. It's a good mix. The instructions on how to set it up are garbage though. They come on the back of the cardboard insert in the package but are not helpful. I mean at all. I ended up just figuring it out on my own. It took 20 minutes of trying to figure out the instructions before I gave up and just decided to figure it out on my own, then it was done in 3 minutes. The instructions actually slowed me down. If you need a simple sling. This is it. Anything cheaper is junk that you don't want. Anything more expensive is fancier than you need.

Held off on buying one of these because I have several Rhodesian slings from Andy’s leather and a Galco Riflemann sling on my scout and practical rifles. But I can always use extra slings to mix it up a bit. Regret holding out for so long! At the price point you’re getting one hell of a sling. Using grove tech 1 1/4 swivels I installed it on a Ruger gunsite scout. Lite unobtrusive and has a great soft feel to it. Outstanding as a cuff sling. This might actually my old M1 slings as my basic go to quick rifle sling. Also was an outstanding shooting aide for my tikka T3X CTR. Buy with confidence. One con I will say is that the included instructions aren’t very good. If you google this sling model you’ll find plenty of posts and blogs about proper install and use. Once it’s set up you’ve got an excellent shooting and carry sling at the price point.

I purchased this for an M1A Socom. It works great in that role - as intended. After pulling up a YouTube video I was able to easily install within minutes. Easier than any of my ARs that's for sure. The provided rifleman's loop is superb and really well thought out. I love the fact that this sling comes floppy and pliable - not like other stiff slings that take a long time to work in (cough Blue Force cough). A very light weight, precise, and functional sling at an excellent price. A win from Magpul.

I mostly don't use a sling (only when hog hunting and am walking long distance on foot) so did not want to spend a ton on a sling. Ultimately opted for RLS sling + no hardware. I just loop the sling around the rifle stock & handguard. My stock does have a slot to feed a sling strap but I actually prefer to just loop the sling thru itself onto the buffer tube region of the stock, then I loop the other end on the handguard near my foregrip and use the magpul sinch thing (it comes on the strap) to sinch it tight. I can take sling on & off in about 15 seconds - plenty convenient for hunting. If you want to get hardware - please dont buy the crappy $5 QD mounts, pay for a good brand like Magpul or BCM. The no-name brand mounts might look fine but is probably a poor quality cast metal.

I am a fan of 1907/CMP style slings. Turner Saddlery is the best. This product hasn't changed my mind. The 1907/CMP is more versatile and a more advanced tool for marksmanship. Modern take on the Kerr sling. It is as comfortable as the typical silent sling. Better quality nylon. Price is ok, but not great: $15 is what I'd value it at. Product is functional, quality, but going to this sling is downsizing from a 1907/CMP style sling. I like the quick loop feature: functional, repeatedable, will hold up to rough use. Quality sling, will last. Easy to install and use. Quicker than a 1907/CMP style sling. Easier to become proficient with. Excellent sling for those who have not trained to shoot with a sling: you will get used to this sling quicker.
