So much better than a tension rod!
Never going to back to tension rods again! I have been buying tension rods for years and they are nothing but a pain. They constantly fall down, even just from pulling back the shower curtain. They also rust extremely fast. This fixed shower rod is perfect. Being only one piece is so nice. There is nothing for the shower curtain rings to get caught on. They glide across this with ease. It is extremely easy to install and comes with screws and anchors. It is purposely made long, but it was very simple to trim with a saw. I think we needed to trim about an inch for it to fit our shower/bathtub.

Perfect alternative to tension rods
We are so happy with this. It's hard to find a screw-mount shower rod that isn't curved. Our bathrooms are not large enough for the curved bars and the tension rods would not stay up. We did have to cut it down just a bit, but that was easy as well as long as you have the right tools. It's perfect, looks great, very sturdy. Great price and a great seller.

got it for the screw-in mounts
...and the cheap price. If you are fortunate enough to have studs located along the edge of your tub/shower where this would be installed, this is definitely the way to go. Makes for a very solid install - it's not going anywhere, and you most definitely won't have to woryy about shifting or outright dropping ever again. Mine is anchored very securely into the lumber behind the sheetrock - very solid. None of the twisty-tighty slipping-around ordeal for me. I can't comment on how it would go if you did not have any studs at the location and had to use mollies or wall anchors instead but I'd still go that way if you're confident in using those. A pipe cutter for cutting the rod would be a whole lot faster, cleaner and straighter than a hack-saw, but don't let that stop you from getting one of these. Too bad the color choices stink (I don't think there is one?)t, but it's in the kids' bathroom - they don't care. Screwing directly into studs, measuring carefully - twice - and using the pipe cutter - took me about 15 minutes to install it, including finding and getting together the tools first.

Nice!
I got this awhile back when I had my master bath room remodeled in December. It's very pretty and especially since it is not supposed to rust. I have had it about six months and it has not rusted or turned dark yet. I will say that being I had pearlescent white glass mosaic tiles installed in my shower when the guy when to install this shower rod in my shower it was too long since it was being put on the tiles themselves. So, we had to figure out how much too long it was and I had to take the shower rod to Home Depot to be cut down to size. Now, it's attached to my shower wall with the two screws that are included and it's just beautiful. But if you are adding it to a shower wall that is not just sheet rock or something really thin then you will have to have it cut down.

Great rod great price, have something you can use to cut it to the right length for installation
Hello, experienced reviewer here. I've been buying online and off amazon for years and I always research products before buying them. This rod is great, much better than a tension rod. I measured my bathroom before ordering and found that my tub was 1 inch shorter than this rod so I ordered it. When the rod arrived I used my Sawzall to cut off an inch and the rest of the installation was pretty straight forward. WARNING: the end caps have sharp edges along the circumference and I cut my hand on one of them. Not an issue once the rod is installed as the edges are flush with the wall, but be careful while installing it. Final advise: Great rod great price, have something you can use to cut it to the right length for installation.

Rod had a long curve in it and was not straight, so not useable
The rod arrived with an obvious curve in it that extended from about 14 inches from one end--to the end. My contractor said it was not bent in transit and that this kind of gentle but very obvious and pronounced curve in last 14 inches of the rod was a manufacturing flaw. He said if it had been bent in transit it would have to be hit or had pressure on it, and there would have been a crease where the bend began if it had undergone trauma. This rod was just not straight and could not be made right by my contractor due to the very thin metal. So, unuseable.

A Shower Curtain Rod That Actually Works!
It took some searching, but this rod is the real deal. It mounts into the wall just like all shower curtain rods used to before the rise of so-called "tension rods" <insert eyeroll emoji here>. You can throw a towel over this one, and it won't come crashing down and hit you on the head. Hooray!

Never ever will I go back to using tension rods
I vow to never return to the annoying spring tension rod again. Oh, those rods produce tension, but not in the way you want them to. I went with this Zenna Permanent Rod, because my $40 tension rod was ruining my brand new drywall and paint job in my bathroom. This rod is amazing, though. It was easy to install. I cut it with a miter saw -too easy. I accidentally cut it a bit short, but the way the hangers are made it wasn't a problem at all. The one thing I really love about this is that it's a pure white. In my house, the wrong white will end up looking like nicotine stained dingy white. I'm just so happy this is clear, true, bright white.
