Great book, a true legend...

I gave this book to my brother, an avid surfer, for a Christmas gift. We had family from all over the country in for the holiday, and they all found this volume by Kelly Slater quite impressive. Even if you don't surf, Slater is an interesting person who has traveled the world and has seen more than the average person, including poor countries. The text and Slater's viewpoints are as phenomenal as the photography. A must for any beach lover or surfer! Where I come from, Kelly's a local; but he's a multiple world champion, famous all over the world.

This book represents a chance to study the mind and behavior of the perfect surfer, some written by himself, some written by journalist Phil Jarratt, foreword by Jack Johnson. A few personalities have been interviewed for the book and the material complements the chapters, along with a series of awesome photographs of Kelly in action.Rather than a biography as "Pipe dreams: a surfer's journey", "For the love" gathers a few stories and presents Kelly's point of view on some contemporary world issues including politics, spirituality, polution, family and surfing.

Well written,beautiful pictures,by one of the most successful Surfers in the times we live.With success at any level we hear the rumors over the years without having any idea what the truth is.I for one have never met Kelly Slater and had an opinion from reading the variety of posts and surfing articles over the years.I believe now my view of kelly was somewhat tainted in many ways.This was a refreshing first account from someone bearing his soul.Cool!!!

It was a gift for our son who is an avid surfer and Kelly Slater fan. He loved it.

Listing for this book says near perfect like new - the dust jacket is damaged in many places - has been torn and taped ! Dust jacket needs to be thrown away. Very disappointed - wouldn't have ordered it if it has been honestly described as damaged.

I bought this book for my son and now that he is grown and moved out this book sits on his coffee table. Great book with great pictures for a great price. If you love surfing this is a must have.

So, chances are if you are considering buying this book then you know who Kelly Slater is. Well this book is all about Kelly!!! It is written by Kelly and is a selection of photographs and comments about his life and there are also contributions from people who have known Kelly over the years. It is not really as biographical as Pipe Dreams, although it does cover his career over the decades. The main point of this book is about the photos!The photographs in this book are fantastic, its well laid out and is easy to pick up. I find myself flicking through it just to look at the pictures. There is a good selection, covering all parts of his life, including some good action sequence shots. Even if you are not Kelly's biggest fan it is a good book just for the surfing photos.Overall, 5/5, its a great book to have lying around to pick up, flick through and get an insight into one of surfing's greatest heroes!

If you're a surfer you'll know Kelly is the best competition surfer ever, evolving himself over the decades- he leads, others follow. As soon as you hold this book you can see it is a quality and class product. The content is superb, beautifully written, with fantastic pictures and amazingly candid from the main man himself! For the serious surfer this book is a must and for the inquisitive a fascinating read which will probably motivate them to surf- live the life!

Great book. My husband is pretty much obssessed with Kelly Slater, but still found lots of stuff in the books which he's never seen before and didn't know about. Great photos in there too. Would also recommend the seller - book arrived very promptly and well packaged.

This book is great, a litlle big view under the most excitting and important moments of the kelly Slater`s life. Great photos!
