Easy Sock Set of 2 Textile Car Snow Chains Size XL

These snow socks were very easy to fit on to the tyres of my Auris Hybrid (225 / 45 R17 91W). They come in a handy case and so take up very little room in the boot of the car. I have only fitted them to test them and I have not used them yet as it is recommended that they are only used when the road is covered completely by snow, but I am sure that they will do the job if and when they are needed. Since I live on a steep hill, I feel much more confident now that they are in the boot of my car. Update on 9 January, 2017.......these socks have paid for themselves a hundred times over! During a recent snowstorm, I had to stop halfway up the steep hill leading to my house because people in front of me had got into serious difficulties. The problems were exacerbated by the fact that people coming down the hill were travelling too fast to stop so cars were banging into each other and it was only a matter of time before someone hit me. It was utter carnage. Needless to say, the council had not gritted so the road was like an ice rink. I could hardly stand up on the hill. I did indeed have some difficulty with fitting the socks because I could not move forward at all on the icy steep hill and reversing was difficult because I was afraid of becoming an out-of-control sledge.and hitting something myself. However, once the socks were fitted, I pulled away from a standing start on the steep icy hill and was easily able to pass by the stranded and damaged vehicles to return safely home without any damage. I was AMAZED at how good the socks were. In my opinion, these socks were designed specifically for this type of emergency. They are not meant for long journeys and will doubtless wear out more quickly than chains on such journeys; but they WILL get you safely out of trouble when needed. I shall NEVER be without them in my boot during forthcoming British winters.

Quality product however, I decided to selly car and had no chance to use it.

Does the trick. I used this to get a bit more grip on icy roads, I had no difficulty with grip while using them. However, they're a big tricky to put on. I used these on the front wheels only, but getting them on the back wheels will be a real challenge. The difficulty to apply is not unique to this product, but I thought I'd mention it as they take a while to get on, and come with very cheap plastic gloves. Your hands will be freezing by the time you have put them on.

Arrived next day and in a zip pouch for storage. Slightly disappointed in the quality, badly machine stitched and finished off, picture attached. Initially I thought it was a tab to pull them on or off but on closer inspection it isn't and only on one sock. They look like a poorly made knock off so let's hope they work at least otherwise they will be going back.

These snow socks are absolutely great! They're lightweight and very easy to fit, it only took me two minutes to get them on the car. The improved grip is very and good and improves confidence when driving in tricky conditions. I've even packed these into my ski bag and used them on a hire car when skiing which saved the €50 charge of having to hire snow chains which paid for themselves twice over. The only issue is driving on roads that are partially snowy and rocky which can damage the sock a bit. Might also be worth keeping a waterproof bag with them to stop them dripping all over the boot as they get sodden when driving in slushy conditions.

Terrible product. Failed me when I really needed it. Managed to get about 10 meters before shredding and leaving me and the family stuck. Unfortunately proper chains did not arrive in time for trip. Can not recommend this product.

Las use el fin de semana pasado para subir a una estación de esquí y fueron perfectas. No se han deteriorado mucho, a pesar de que en algunos tramos habia poca nieve y circulaba sobre el asfalto.

Unfortunately they lasted just a couple of km, on snowy road. I leave two stars just because it was very easy to install them. Apart from that, they seem not robust enough (at least it was for me) . Looking for some sort of refund if i ever manage to get it..

Bought them for a trip up to the mountains, and used them only briefly for like ten minutes on slushy roads. They worked like a charm. Due to it not being fresh snow they got dirty, but washed them in the machine when I got home. They are not white anymore, but clean. Love how easy they are to put on tires — took me less than five minutes per wheel. Never heard of snow socks before as I was only familiar with chains. Great invention!
