One side of my clock does not keep the correct time even with a new battery. Can it be replaced? Recommendations on the fix?

Just replace the defective clock works. Unless you can return the item to Amazon. Search diy clock parts. You'll find another big just like the one you are replacing. They just pop out. Remove the hands first! Pop new box in, then place hands back on. ALSO,make sure that the box is setting in straight.

I cannot make out how batteries go in?

There is not a back on the clock. The part that sits against the wall is a hole and each clock has a spot for batteries.

This clock is not treated for outdoor use.

The clock mounts with 2 Keyhole hangers on the back side.
