pretty straight forward will fit most buttons
TLDR: they will fit where the beer washers won't. these are great, and work even with small strap buttons and thicc strap ends. Pretty straight forward to use. I've used it on standard buttons (stocK) fender, gibson, epiphone, recording king / gretsch resonators / dobros, rivolta, heritage guitars. I used to use the standard: The beer grolsch beer rubber washers. I have dozens of them. It's funny how now string joy, fender, and other guitar related brands make these in their own color / logos. this is thing is good, and simple. spin so its biggest hole and put the button in and spin it 180 degrees, and done. I have used this with several guitars, epiphone ES dots, heritage LP, fender strats / teles, they have the tiny strap buttons (yes the ones that worn in straps will slip off) to the bigger buttons like on acoustics and dobro's . It even works with the recording king brass tricone resonator/ , and that's a heavy 10 lb beast that out honks a martin, and that getsch dobro. The beer grolsch beer rubber washers, were good but the problem is when I got those high quality leather uber straps, where the strap is thicc and the grolsch rubber washers pop off as there isn't enough room for them with the thicc strap on the electric strap buttons that are tiny. However the dunlop ones are skinny enough. It doesn't turn all the way (180 degrees) but it is enough to hold the strap while moving around. Now I don't spin my guitars or do the cool guy flip it so I can keyboard or jump on the drums / congas / grab the viola, but just play, maybe duckwalk, hop, or jump around (punk band style) but these hold. I think for the spinning stuff its best to get locking metal ones (that lock tight and you have to replace your original strap buttons), but for average play, can't beat these.

Three strap locks
The strap lock is OK and easy to use. The package is three individual strap locks, "Set of three strap locks," literally as it says. I thought it would be three sets of strap locks, because there are no guitars with three strap buttons. But that is what you get, three strap locks, two to use on a guitar and one to throw away.

Purchased again!
Great, low budget solution to strap lock needs. I put these on a Custom Shop guitar that I do not wish to modify. Works excellent. This is my second purchase!

Ingenious strap lock, almost like using a metal washer on a screw
Good enough for ACDC... Good enough for me!!! I was skeptical, but this thing rocks. It's almost like putting a metal washer on a screw, but isn't permanent, and you don't need to change your strap buttons, unless your strap buttons are oversized. These fit the standard, Gibson and Fender strap buttons, which are about 14mm. However, these won't fit Charvel and other oversized buttons that are 16mm+. There is also a little eyelt thing that will slow you to sew, or in some other way attach these strap locks directly to you strap, so you don't lose them when switching to another guitar. As far as caveats, these aren't the fastest strap locks out there, but they're super solid. If you're spinning your guitar around your body, I'd go with metal washers, but I'm pretty sure these could handle it... But 99.9% won't be twirling your guitar astound anyway lol. These are far superior to rubber washers, unless you have 16mm+ strap buttons. On anything smaller, rubber washers tend to come off. On 16mm+, although rubber washers are super secure, these would be more secure... but sadly, they won't fit. I'd take a star off, but these are ao good and SO CHEAP, that they deserve 5 stars. Yeah.. I should maybe take another star off for only having three locks (and not 4) in the package, but the price is worth it for just a pair, and the 3rd could be seen as backup. If you buy 2 boxes, for under 10$ and free shipping, you can get 3 straps/guitars outfitted with these things. That's a nice deal. The only reason I can really see for having mechanical strap locks bow is if you have to switch guitars a lot on stage and use the same strap, because some straps are expensive and/or you are using a wireless transmitter and don't want to spend on one for each guitar. Twirling the guitar around? I wouldn't even do it with Schallers.. Might as well use metal washer on a screw for that. BTW, 1/3 of these had a looser spin than the others, but my buddy who has a bunch says it doesn't matter, as they all hold.

These work ok. Not my favorite approach
Certainly these are better than nothing, to secure your guitar strap to the guitar. A few things I didn't like -- it took two hands to install or remove. I had to look carefully to make sure I turned them correctly. They initially were hard to turn (secure) but may loosen over time (not so secure). I found some inexpensive alternatives (basically a c-shape piece of plastic) that slips over the strap/strap knob and these are very effective and cheap. I typically use Schaller strap locks but for my arch top I didn't want to replace the existing strap knobs.

For years I've been using washer style strap locks. However a new guitar had a steeper angle than usual and the washer were coming off. The Jim Dunlop locks are superb, because they fix onto the strap button and are not flexible, they hold much more securely. Definitely a good purchase.
