Our old kettle died suddenly and the ancient spare we keep for such eventualities was not a long term solution. We decided to spend a bit more on this kettle then we usually would but the good news is that is was worth it. I do not know how long it will last but it has a guarantee and it looks good and works beautifully. It is easy to unpack and set up. It pours well and has a removable lid. It is quiet to operate and the boiled water tastes good. It is necessary to do a couple of boils and pour that water away, at first use but that is fairly normal for most kettles we have had. So far it is staying clean and I just love it. The handle is tactile and keeps the steam away from you hands. The only negative is that the level gauge is slightly obscured by the handle but generally we are coping with this okay and it is readable. The maximum level only fills the kettle to about 2/3rds and so some care is required, not to over fill it. This kettle is lovely. I love the green we chose. We have used the Swan brand before and generally been happy. It is worth shopping around because different colours and stores mean different prices. I dropped a star because it is a bit pricey, in my opinion. However, it arrived the next day and is just what we needed. If this kettle suits you needs and budget it is a very good buy.

This has a 1-star review as zero is not an acceptable answer. I made the mistake of ordering a matching set of Swan items (microwave, kettle, toaster) to update my kitchen. The microwave is fine, the toaster is flimsy, but this kettle is the big problem. We set up our new products a couple of days before we set off on holiday. On our return, the new kettle (from which we'd had 2 days use) did not switch on at all. As we had been away, the short window for a straightforward return had closed. We followed the support process on Amazon, which referred us to Swan customer service. After a lengthy delay, Swan got in touch to say that Amazon had to deal with it, and I should go back to them. We then tried Amazon again, still no joy, had to go back to Swan. Got back to Swan, more pointedly, who still refused to deal with it, and provided a phone number and reference number to go back to Amazon. Tried the Amazon number, tried answering the automated questions in a number of different ways, but still reached 'end of process' without getting to talk to a human being. All roads lead back to 'contact Swan'. As a customer, you're stuck in an endless loop between one company refusing to take responsibility, and another refusing to let you talk to a person who might just accept there's a problem. I'd suggest avoiding this range, it is not up to the standard I would have previously expected from the brand, and their customer service is non-existent.

I am very happy with my new (white) kettle, I love the style of it, it is lightweight with a great big handle and it is quick to fill as the lid removes easily. It is quiet, boils fast and pouring is easy. So far I’ve had no problems.

It boils water quickly and efficiently, and the 1.7L capacity is sufficient for most household needs. The soft-touch finish on the body is a nice feature, making the kettle easy to handle even when it’s full. Final Verdict The Swan Nordic Jug Kettle is a stylish and efficient kettle, but it falls short in terms of durability. The wood-effect handle, which is a key part of its design, quickly loses its charm as the faux wood scrapes off, revealing the plastic underneath. If you’re looking for a kettle that maintains its good looks over time, you might want to consider other options. However, if you prioritise quick boiling and aren’t too concerned about the long-term appearance, this kettle still offers decent functionality. Looked good for about 8 months, then the handle started to peel even though we don't use any abrasives or soaps on it. I was informed that the warranty does not cover this. Otherwise good.

Fast billing and looks good. Using an adapter plug but works well. Easy to keep clean.
