15in Adventurer All Season Waterproof Overshoes

So, I figured the Canadian military and U.S. mail deliverymen must know something about boots, and I needed a tough, light, waterproof overshoe that did what it said it would. Well, I'm very happy with these babies. As luck would have it, it was pouring rain the day after these arrived. I put them on over comfortable walking sneakers, (New Balance). Size 9 1/2 sneakers slipped right in. The Velcro front closure looked like it might be a pain to close, (being a long vertical run), but the flaps lined up and velcroed just fine. The ankle belt snugged the boots without being restrictive or uncomfortable over the top of the sneaker and the tongue/lacing. Good fit up the calf - not too tight/ not too loose. The top of the upper "gaiter" was snug and allowed for pants tuck in. I was afraid the upper, being lighter material, might just sag down to my ankles, but it held up like a boot. Now, the test. I headed out on a two mile trail hike. First off, the outside stairway is painted and slippery/slick in the rain. These boots grabbed and held every step. A big plus. I walked in every puddle and muddy rut. Totally dry and firm footing. Very light and no sense I was wearing any kind of boot or overshoe. No squeaking. Boot flexed nicely when I had to clamber over things. Upper part of boot did not sag. Pants stayed in place. (I'll wear rain pants over the calf when in real use.) No rubbing from the ankle strap. No squeaking or odd sounds. Sneaker did not shift inside boot. Feet did not overheat. At the end I just stood in a puddle in the rain for 15 minutes to give the boots a further chance to leak. When I got home and took the boots off there was zero water infiltration, even along the Velcro strip. The sole hadn't filled up with caked mud, (although to be fair I walked the last bit through clean pine straw and clear water so the boots sort of got washed off. But it didn't seem like these were inclined to get caked up with mud.) Boots came off just as easily as they went on; no messy struggle. The upshot is that these did exactly what I wanted. Waterproof, light, comfortable, grippy. A happy find.

These are terrific. The ones I ordered are about 10 inches high, which is enough for my needs. They go on and off much, much easier than any other overshoes I have ever seen or tried, and they look nicer than the picture shows. Because of knee trouble, I wear New Balance 990 running shoes *all the time*, and it is great that they fit into these boots easily! The shoes are size 8 1/2 D, and the boots I ordered are size 9. Neos are very lightweight, have very good traction and are waterproof. I have walked through puddles several inches deep without getting any water inside. Although some have complained that they have experienced condensation inside the boots, I have not had that problem. I am not hiking hard, but just doing errands in them at the pace of a healthy senior citizen, and I keep the ankle strap on the loose side. Because they fit my shoes so well, they do not flop around, and they do not make my feet sweat, either. Unless you are really hung up on fashion, buy them!

Bought these for our trip to Yellowstone in February! BEST PURCHASE EVER. I was surprised to not see them on anyone upthere. I had locals asking me about them. Went snowshoeing in them over my light weight goretex hiking boots. Plus I wore them through the slushy icy mess in in the streets of Gardiner at night. Never did my feet get cold or sweaty. I wore one pair of lighteight merino wool socks in my boots and the neos over that. The most interesting thing was on longer hikes or snowshoe trips, the moisture from my normally sweaty feet made its way into the NEOS boot, beingcompletely waterproof, the neos had collected the condensation, but my gortex hikers kept that away from my feet, and the NEOS kept out snow,ice and water from the outside. When I first saw this I thought there had been a leak in the over boot, but I never felt any cold which was puzzling at first. I just dry NEOS with a hand towel or paper towels. Sounds odd but that system worked very well. They are super easy to put on and take off so drying them out is easy if you have a long hike and remember to do it on a stop. I dont know if they will make a NEOs with a gortex panel to let some of the moisture escape, which would be a great addition, but these overboots as they are will keep out the elements, i can wear my running shoes in them too, for a slosh through our Houston flood waters to unclog the street drains.

This is my first purchase of Neos Overshoes and they seem to be just what I need. I wear a size 9 shoe and ordered the Neos Adventurer size large. They fit over my hiking boots perfectly and are very easy to put on and remove. The are just a little loose when I wear my tennis shoes, but is not a big deal. I like the way the fold up for traveling and do not take up much room. They may not be the most stylish footwear (I think I saw a pair similar to these on the monster "Frankenstein" when I watched the movie) but they do the job of keeping your feet dry. My wife and I are going to a photography workshop next fall in Northern Michigan and the folks that put on the workshop recommended Neos as they have been using them for workshops in Yellowstone, Alaska, and Michigan for many years.

Fabulous boots with some caveats. Keeps out all snow and rain, etc. Warm but not too warm. Large is good length for size ten shoe but too wide. The upper part is quite roomy for easy entry and removal but doesn't properly tighten up (not enough velcro). You can pinch yourself painfully with the clasps. Pricey.

I have been purchasing this and using this product(not specifically this size) for years, other than wearing them out over a few years, have never had a problem with them. They keep the feet dry and warm along with the my other footwear.

Thinner fabric than I expected for the price, but sole appears sturdy. Fit was a little tighter than what I measured for, but will work. I'd suggest possibly going up a little larger. Am only looking for water resistance, not warmth, so will be testing soon. But, nice and lightweight, pack down very small, which is definitely an advantage!
