This is a really nice cover — great quality, wonderful price. Leather is very soft and flexible. The finish on the leather is really nice (not plasticky feeling at all). Color is not really green, more of a brown and the bookmark is not all that great — but it easily fits behind the notebook and it not noticeable. This cover fits stalogy B5 notebook perfectly. Because the color is brown and not the green, I will be exchanging it, but still recommend it as it is a really nice cover.

I was looking for a cover for standard composition notebooks to use as a journal. I'd personally pay for a solid cover, and replace the notebooks as I fill them, rather than buy high-end notebooks that cost as much as this cover per notebook. I'll be honest in saying that at this price point I was expecting something terribly special - but wow! The outside sleeve is a single piece of leather, not super-thick, but in my opinion its perfect for the outer sleeve. Its light enough to not be cumbersome, but seems thick enough to wear well. The leather itself seems to be of good quality, and with decent care should lend itself to aging well. The stitching looks very well done, and durable. I've had leather folios and covers from other shops over the years that cost in the hundreds, and I can honestly say that at this price point, I'd pick this cover every time.

I just got this and I was impressed just by the packaging. It came inside a sturdy burlap bag with a leather tie and a leather logo patch. The bag itself is worth saving to reuse. Then I was more impressed by the cover. It is made of medium thick, but soft and supple leather. The stitching is uniform and neatly done. The color is great and I love the feel and smell of the leather. It fits my composition book nicely and I look forward to trying it on other similarly sized notebooks. Did I tell how much I like the feel and smell of it? It even came with an embossed leather fob. I'll be keeping an eye on other Hide & Drink products.

I got 3 different leather journal notebook covers to compare, this is the one I liked the most. This cover fits my 9.75x7.5 composition notebook like a glove. It gives it that perfect feel of protection yet is low profile enough to use without hindrance. It is exactly what I was looking for. It feels so good it just melts in your hands. The place keeper strap is a beautiful touch. You can feel the handmade quality and nostalgia you would assume yo get with an item such as this. I am very pleased. I will update after a year worth of use.

Since taking up fountain pens I've found myself using a lot of composition books. Cheap and easy to find fountain pen friendly paper is great, except it makes you look like an elementary school kid when you pull one out in a meeting in a professional environment. Standard composition notebooks fit in here perfectly. They are snug and don't wiggle around. When the notebook is closed all of the edges feel uniform and look good. This leather notebook cover looks great, stitching lines up nicely, and feel great. My cheap .50 cent composition notebook now looks like a well dressed notebook. I'm excited for my next meeting now. The leather looks like it will be very durable and hold up well over time too. The bookmark looks good but it's a bit thick for my taste. I've tucked it behind the notebook for now.

This is a great notebook cover! The informal look and feel is like a well used accessory right out of the bag. The thick leather and quality construction give a sense of durability - not to mention the 101 year warranty! I'm anxious to see how this will age with time and use. I expect that it will only add to the appeal. I didn't use this with a Moleskin notebook, but with a regular college ruled composition book, perfect fit. The front flap is a nice pocket and the woven bookmark is a nice touch. This will definitely be part of my everyday use items going forward!

This Hide & Drink cover really has been almost everything that I expected it to be. It is a great cover for an inexpensive composition book. Just a couple of observations that made me give it 4 stars versus 5 stars. - My leather cover arrived in a thin plastic wrapper. This was unlike any other Hide & Drink product I've ever purchased. It does NOT take away from the quality of the product itself...BUT, one of the things I enjoyed about previous Hide & Drink products was the attention to detail, right down to the canvas bag they packaged items in, and the little inserts that came with the items stating who made them. This item contained none of that. - My cover is the color I expected (Bourbon Brown) but it is a little more soft or supple than I envisioned from the pictures and the pictures others have submitted. This isn't a con, per se, just not what I was expecting. It is definitely still tough enough to protect my notes for years to come. Lastly one thing I learned had very little to do with this product, but with the composition book I planned to put in it (and did put in it). I wanted this notebook as an alternative to nicer A5 and field notes notebooks. Composition books are cheap ($1-2!) so I wouldn't feel bad just jotting down anything, doodling, taking notes from phone calls. What I forgot was how thin composition notebook paper is. Be prepared to make yourself a writing board (shitajiki) out of a thin piece of paperboard/cardboard to use when you are near the front or rear of the notebook. This way you'll have a nice smooth surface to write on.

It's a really lovely piece of work. But it's too small for the Moleskin XL. When the journal is in it, the folder won't close which is a real pity. Beware.

Compré esta funda de piel para proteger una libreta de apuntes muy especial para mí. Confieso que fue una compra un poco excéntrica, pero la verdad es que valió totalmente la pena. Protege muy bien la libreta, y además le da un toque de elegancia que no pasa desapercibido. Cada vez que la llevo a una junta de trabajo y saco mis notas, hay algo en el gesto —en la textura de la piel, en el objeto mismo— que marca una diferencia. Para quienes aún valoramos el placer de escribir a mano y conservar nuestras ideas en papel, esta funda es más que un accesorio: es una forma de darles dignidad y permanencia a nuestras notas. Si tienes una libreta que merece cuidado y estilo, esta funda es una gran elección.

This is the real deal. The leather is so thick...my god! I don't understand how the price can be so good. I will definitely recommend this brand to anyone I know. From the packaging to the product, its just quality!

I liked the quality and the color but I dropped 2 stars as I bought it exclusively for my Moleskine XL notebook and it was about one inch tight and gave my notebook cover some wrinkles. I recommend seller to remove that part of description from their product so they save time and money for themselves and we also don't get hassle to return the item.
