Love Letter (1995) Miho Nakayama, Etsushi Toyokawa[All Region, Import]

This is the second time I have purchased this movie, because my sister stole the first one from me - she liked it that much, lol. I enjoyed introducing this film to my wife recently. The performances in this movie are fantastic and written well. There's that one scene that really grips me every time. You'll know it when you see it: "Ogenki desu ka?"

I wish more people saw this movie. If you like Japanese love stories from the 90s, you will enjoy this movie. I am not sure if there was an official US release.

Wonderful movie

We enjoyed this one all the way through. Realistic and down to earth.

It delievry was quick the DVD was in great condition and my wife love the DVD. Also, good price.

Perfect for my Japanese wife.

I watch foreign movies all the time, and don’t mind subtitles, as for this movie, it dragged-on and on, and the foreshadowing was so blatantly obvious it was difficult to watch to the end. It was on par with Hallmark romances. This is one that goes in the trash; not worth the purchase price, nor saving.

I wanted to watch this film after it featured in another film I saw, 18x2 Beyond Youthful Days (which was also excellent). It’s a wonderful film. Fantastic cinematography with sweeping views of the Japanese countryside in Winter. The female lead is astonishingly good, especially considering it was her first acting role. Without spoiling it, I was quite confused for the first 20mins which is clearly intentional. It’s clever and beautifully done. A poignant exploration of love and grief which is sad at times but also somehow uplifting. I loved it

Beautiful. It is slow, but it takes you there, you feel the season they’re in, the warmth they are looking for.
