Women's Long Short Sleeve Vintage Lace V Neck Nightgown Cotton Sleepwear

I purchased the US Small/Tag Size Medium and the US Medium/Tag Size Large to see which one fit, as a majority of the reviews were mixed on my sizing. I tried on the smallest one first because that was the size I was hoping to fit as I do not want the nightgown to be too loose, mainly in the chest. I like sleeping with a bit of support. The US Small/Tag Size Medium is perfect! For those in similar sizing to me, I am 5’4”, less than 140, and bra size is 32DDD/34DD. I usually wear size Small, but sometimes have to go to Medium if the chest area has no give. Because of the string adjustment on the front (mind you, I have the draw strings pulled tight in the pictures), I can get the right support I was hoping for. The dress’ material is overall cotton minus the lace, which is not really scratchy, but I am sure with a wash, it will soften. Because it is cotton, I would be careful with the risk of size shrinking. Some reviews for this item have said washing it with cold water still had it shrink. However, I think a quick cold wash and using just an ivory soap bar (no detergent) will be just fine. I have washed shrinkable material that way and have not run into size shrinking issues after a quick cold hand wash with an ivory soap bar and then hanging the item to dry. Overall, it is a cute nightgown and exactly what I was hoping for when I saw this item. I would recommend it. *3 week update since purchase and with 2 uses already:* I love, love this nighty dress! With the first wash, the material felt softer and it is super comfortable to sleep in. It provides perfect chest support but is breathable and not clinging-to-your-skin feel. I have washed it twice now and the sizing has not changed at all. Just handwash it for a few minutes or less in icy cold water with a bar of ivory soap, rinse the soap from the dress, and then after ringing out the water to your best ability, hang it to dry. I have not dried it in my dryer. I am sure if I did, even on gentle low heat, it very likely could cause the material to alter (shrink) in areas I don’t need it to. Yes, this means it is higher maintenance to care for if you do not already handwash and air dry any of your clothes, but it is worth it.

This gown is medium weight but very comfy and warm; plus, it looks beautiful on me! I'm 5'7" 145 pounds and wear a 36C bra and I got a large. I definitely wouldn't have wanted it any smaller! If in doubt, go towards a larger size! Beautiful style, one of a kind and great value! I wore it throughout the winter time and it holds up well in the wash, though put it in a lingerie bag to maintain shape and fabric quality. I hang it to dry. Overall, lovely gown!

This nightdress is gorgeous at first, but like other reviewers I found that after the first wash, it shrunk by about one third!! And that's a cold wash, with gentle detergent. This ruins the proportions of the dress and makes the lace pucker and the elastic sit on top of the bust rather than below. Buying a bigger size wouldn't fix this, as the torso length doesn't vary much between sizes. It's just unacceptable, and not worth the price. Also, the ribbons at the back are loosely woven and poorly attached, so inevitably come off. Without them the dress falls off my shoulders so I had to hand sew them back on. :/

This nightgown is so incredibly soft and comfortable I have washed it a few times now and one of the strips of lace on the neckline, right at the point of the V has torn a bit. The neck ribbon is sewn into the seams at the top, but the ends were not tied together at the chest. I tied it but it does come undone pretty easily. I think the lace may have been stressed by all of the tying and retying and it was not the strongest trim in the first place. Since I can sew, I am just going to fix it, then stitch the bow down so it stays put!

The gown is soft and feminine, just the look I wanted. The bust is too small, the rest of the gown fits perfect. I ordered the size that I ordinarily wear in a nightgown, (I always size one up) and still too small in the bust area. It is so pretty but need to return as the fit too small.

Loved the design and fit. Very feminine and looks great. It’s comfortable too. Wish the stitching on ruffle at bottom was a little stronger. The gathering has pulled a loose in some places already.

The neckline of the gown has a bit of stretch to it so you could pull it down to your shoulders and it wouldn’t slide off. I really love this. I’m 5 foot and the small goes down to mid calf for me. I’m a very petite person so the whole thing is very flowy and beautiful

Very misleading length. I'm 5'7" and it barely came to mid-calf, not to the ankle like depicted.
