Some background for context. My grandmother had a stroke a few years ago and is in a wheelchair. At night time we have her setup with an external female catheter system known as PureWick. This way she doesn’t need to get up at night to pee and doesn’t need to be wet at night with adult diapers. The single use external catheters are made with synthetic materials and need to be WAY up in her business. The end of it needs to be pretty much sealed against her perineum so it doesn’t leak. Getting this “installed” effectively every night is tricky and not without discomfort for my grandmother. Additionally there is strain on the soft tissues because of the regular usage and man-handling she undergoes. For months we tried using witch-hazel pads to soothe the area and various lubricants to assist in installation but the PureWick would leak some and the area was always tender. Since discovering this ointment and using it nightly we’ve had much more frequent success with the PureWick (less leaks), the installation process is smoother. H-salve’s consistency is perfect and it provides a little bit of slip without making a mess and the right amount allows for a good seal. Now the ointment is protecting her through the night rather than just having witch hazel on her occasionally during the day. I’ve been using the same pot of ointment for almost a year and we still have half of it left. A little goes a long way and it is nothing short of exceptional. It even smells good. The label indicated this is made close to where my grandparents used to live so we like to imagine that it’s one of our old friends or acquaintances making this for us. So to keep the details light, I was having not a great time down there. This treatment seemed to work magic almost instantly. I can’t say for sure if it’s healing them completely but I definitely feel like it’s working much better than the medication you buy in the drug store. I also feel more comfortable applying it more often due to it being natural. I would definitely recommend using if you’re having hemorrhoid problems and discomfort.

Very slow healing and dissappearing.

I tried the time honored over the counter meds with limited results. A lot of people took time to report positive results with H-Salve. I am happy to say that I have found this product highly effective. Some people reported a burning sensation. I had this for the first half day, but it provided no significant destraction from the other pain in the area. By the following morning there was no pain anywhere. A priceless fact for an ED RN! There was still some unwelcome tissue extrusive, so I continued to use the ointment. After the initial couple of applications on the highly inflamed tissues, there was no filurther burning in all subsequent applications. After some weeks I find the small volume of product to be hardly used. This leads me to believe this small container will last several years. More importantly, things feel very good under there, better than they have in the last decade. Those sensative tissues have responded well to ongoing use. The product likely reduced the reinsurance by adding some slip at a critical part. I have been trying to solve other factors in the issue as well. Swollowing a table spoon of EVOO is helping,too. Between the two interventions there has been no sequella for many weeks. I highly recommend this product.

Pass on this... This did not live up to the hype in the description as the lid to the jar was cracked and a large piece was lying in the box. Jar was quite small, too. I returned it as I do not want to use if the lid is cracked.
