I recently bought the COOLOMG Basketball Knee Pads for my son, who plays in a youth basketball league, and overall, I’m really impressed with how they’ve performed so far. Comfort & Fit The pads are lightweight and don’t feel bulky, which is great for a kid. He says they don’t restrict his movement, so he can run, jump, and bend freely. The compression around his knee gives enough support so he feels more stable, but it’s not too tight. They grip well—no slipping down during games, even when he’s sprinting up and down the court. Protection The padding is substantial enough to absorb contact when he collides with another player or lands awkwardly. That gives me peace of mind during scrimmages and more competitive play. Because the padding is flexible, it doesn’t feel stiff or awkward when he’s dribbling, passing, or making quick cuts. Durability After a few weeks (and several practices), the seams are holding up — no fraying or pulling apart. We’ve washed them (gentle cycle, air dry), and the pads haven’t lost their shape or cushioning. Breathability The material breathes surprisingly well — he doesn’t come off the court drenched in sweat just from wearing the pads. Even when things get intense, the fabric seems to wick away some of the moisture so it’s not uncomfortable. Value In terms of cost vs. performance, these are a fantastic buy. For youth basketball, where injuries from falls and collisions are more common, having reliable knee protection without spending a ton is a big win. They’re definitely more affordable than some pro-level knee pads, but they don’t feel cheap or flimsy. Possible Downsides Because they are padded, they add a little bulk. For very slender or smaller kids, finding the right size might be tricky. (Make sure to check sizing carefully.) The padding is good for general impact, but it may not be as thick/protective as some heavy-duty knee braces if your child already has a knee injury and needs maximum stabilization. Great product and well priced!

We tried these last year because we were tired of spending twice as much on McDavid kneepads several times per basketball season because the McDavid kneepads tore quite easily. My daughter perfers the McDavid ones because they don't cover as much leg as the coolomg ones, but my boys prefer these. It's just a personal preference thing. The kneepad itself has changed design. They used to be just like the McDavid: small cylindrical pads arranged to cover the knee area. These seemed to tear quite easily, and some of the pads would fall out. This design seemed to allow natural movement, but it wasn't very durable. The new coolomg ones we got has a completely different pad design: it's a one-piece pad with raised spherical bumps. In theory, this wouldn't seem to move as naturally, but my son didn't notice any difference. It also seems to offer better impact protection because there is always a layer of foam covering the knee. So far, it also seems to be holding up better and hasn't torn despite a couple tournament weekends (8 games total) despite some hard crashes. The only downside I see is the cuff no longer has a rubberized/grippy section to keep it from slipping. There will be some normal adjustments during game play, but the jury is out on this one. Overall, the price alone means I will continue to buy these. Construction seems on par with McDavid, and they are just as durable, and perhaps more so with the new pad design. Understand they will rip/tear at some point, and will need to be replaced. At half the cost, or less, it's a no brainer.

My son has ordered quite a few pair of these. Within 2 months the circular pads have completely separated and leave the padded area completely unpadded. Unfortunately these fit so well these are the ones he prefers so we order them for now, until they fix the design, or we find better designed ones! **Edit** Upon reading this review the company reached out to me and asked if they could send a replacement pair of these for my son. The process was super easy, I received the new pair, and the representative was extremely informative through the whole process! I am impressed with the customer service! Well done!

It is what it is.. a knee pad. The only negative would be the top keeps sliding down. Next purchase will be 3/4 length pants with knee pads.
