Meter Star Air Conditioning Copper Pipe Extension - 3/8" Flare Nut, Joint Double Connector, Intermediate Connection Head, Free Welding, Fits 3/8 inch Diameter Tubes

I bought 1/2" and 1/4" union connectors to fix a leak I discovered coming from the indoor unit of my mini split. After checking for the source of the leak, I traced it to the point where the refrigerant line set connect to the copper lines coming out of the indoor air-handler. As you can imagine after mounting these units it's a hassle and a pain to remove and repair due to the awkward location and cramped and limited space. To fix the problem I decided to use these connectors to shorten the lines and flare the ends making it easier to use a bender to make two 90 degree bends (less likely to kink) on the shorter lines and connect to the lines outside going to the condenser. The initial leak check was good and so far, the system is working great.

Strong, solid connectors. Used when I replaced my central ac compressor. Wanted to be able to remove compressor easily in case there was a problem. Worked great on my 2 ton suction line. Use thread sealant.

Worked perfect!! Couldn’t find one locally so ordered this and it was just what we needed. Had to replace a leaking compression fitting on a mini split system

This is a standard SAE 45 degree flare fitting with SAE 1/2" threads. Threads have .75" external (major) diameter and 14 tpi.I wish the description would have mentioned some of this information. Seems like a decent product as long as you are not looking for something with BSPP threads.

No complaints. Worked as expected to extend a lone set for a mini split, I didn’t want to braze so this worked well.
