Q: Picture shows "powdered" but description shows ground. Which one is this? What are the differences in uses and taste between the two?

It is not powdered. It has the consistency of a sugar. Maybe a bit lighter than that, but that is the best way I can describe it. The taste is just terrific! I steep a half teaspoon of it in a half cup of boiling water then wait until the temperature drops to around 100 degrees, then add a teaspoon of honey and fill the cup with warm water, mix and drink the nicest tasting tea imaginable. Also obtaining at the same time; one of the finest health aids not known to Western Medicine.

Q: Does this cinnamon contain any additives or other ingredients? Is there anything mixed into the 100% Ceylon Cinnamon, e.g.,sawdust, cinnamon oil, etc?

I have to agree with the original question are there other additives in this product? I purchased this cinnamon as a safer alternative since I consume at least a teaspoon of cinnamon per day and was concerned with store brands with toxins. After the first day of using this product I could not get rid of the taste or smell for several days until I finally use an NeilMed to clean my sinuses.

I asked Frontier that too and they responded that they can't control what amazon charges. In other words, they wish you were dumb enough to purchase it thru them. don't worry, it is the same product. amazon buys in bulk and can resell at any price they want. do your research as I did and you will find it is so wise to shop around.

Cinnamomum verum, from which Ceylon cinnamon is derived, is native to Sri Lanka. It is also grown elsewhere, though. The old botanical synonym for the tree-Cinnamomum zeylanicum-is derived from Sri Lanka's former name, Ceylon and Sri Lanka still produces 80-90% of the world's supply of Cinnamomum verum. But it is also cultivated on a commercial scale in Seychelles and Madagascar. This package is clearly labeled "Cinnamomum verum J.Presl" which is the binomial name of true Ceylon cinnamon.
