Q: Is this a powder or a granular fertilizer?

I just received this product a few days ago and purchased it partly based on Paul Paquette's comment here that the fertilizer dilutes easily when mixed with water. It does not dilute, except for a small percentage of the product. In fact, vigorously mixing 8 ounces of it in a 5 gallon bucket of water left about 7 ounces of the fertilizer in the bottom of the bucket. In my experience, it is NOT readily water soluble. I wanted to use this mixed with water as a slow drip/feed for several trees around our house. I should have researched it more. Hope that helps future buyers.

Q: Would this be good for leland cypress trees? ours have a twig blight which we are treating. would this be good also?

As an evergreen, I would think Holly-Tone would be a better choice. To confirm, check out the Espoma website. They have a great plant finder search tool that will determine the best product for you.

Q: Would this be good for a potted gardenia bush?

I use it on my maple trees once a year but I would imagine it’s good for any plant.
