Q: Is this safe to use on painted walls?

Thank you for asking. This is a permanent adhesive. It is not designed to remove cleanly or damage free from applied surfaces.

Q: Can this hold up fabric? Like a wall tapestry?

I guess it would depend on the weight. Some tapestries can get really heavy. This does seem to be pretty strong. Also if its a fabric that sheds it would likely shed its way off even this tape. Another thing to consider is that this stuff is really sticky. Its possible that you wont get this off the wall or the fabric of the tapestry.

Q: does this leave a residue when removed?

I have no had any issue. I use it outside for hooks. I’ve put it on siding and glass. No problem for me.
