Nice bedside clock, but could use some changes/improvements to make it even better. Overall, good though for the ~ 2 weeks I've had it.Pros- Alarm sounds even without external power (i.e. on battery alone, though no with display). I LOVE this as a feature! Of course it's nice to have a battery backup so when power returns one does not have to set the time again, but to have the alarm still work even without power is wonderful (and how all similar clocks should work).- Accurate time (varies by at most seconds/day, but increases have cancelled the decreases and therefore it hasn't drifted overall). I've returned other clocks due to inaccurate time (e.g. 1 to 2 minutes off per day), but the overall drift in mine is measured in seconds over a week (I spent more measuring this than I care to admit). I was worried that drifts of seconds/day would result in me wanting/needing to correct the time every few months, but that does not appear to be likely.- Nightlight is a nice feature, and easy to work. It's not really helpful to us in our bedroom, but it'll be very nice in the guest room. It has been useful in finding a few items without waking the spouse, but that has been quite limited.Cons- You can't reset the time to 12:00 (for either the alarm or clock) by simultaneously pushing the buttons to set hrs & mins . This makes going from a 7:30AM wakeup to a 6:00AM wake up a bit cumbersome.- Finding the button to push to set the alarm time can be challenging. Takes some practice to get used to it- Turning the alarm on/off requires reaching around the side and sliding the button sideways, which is hard to find, shifts the clock around, and is a bit difficult to move. Better would have been to design it to slide vertically so one could reach over the top and pull it up or push it down. Takes some practice to get used to itThings I'm neutral about- Display is bigger than I wanted, but it's advertised as such so certainly no down-grading due to that by me- Alarm volume – I'm a light sleeper, so volume is not an issue- LED brightness – on the low setting I would be ok with even dimmer LEDs, but I certainly need no brighter. On the brighter setting it would be much brighter than I'd prefer, but it may be good for others.Although trivial and something I hate to admit, but I had a tough time opening the battery cover as I misinterpreted the latch as something that would stay with the clock. But it's all actually part of the cover. That was a one-time problem for me.I have not checked the time accuracy on battery, but if that works within minutes/year then it'll be fine. I'm interested to see how long the battery lasts, and will try to update with that info.05/07/2018 Update. This thing works great. Gotten past any issues I had and love the clock. Keeps great time, accurate to within a minute or so per year. Battery lasts something like 9 months, but I survive! Will be getting more for other rooms in the house as needed!

Easy too use no bells and whistles just a regular easy to operate alarm clock!

This alarm clock advertises accuracy and I have to state that they deliver. I purchased two of these clocks, one for my bedroom and the other for the living room. When I received them back in February 6, I set them both and I have not had to touch them since. I have bought more than a few alarm clocks looking for an alarm clock that will maintain the time and I have been disappointed with all the previous purchases until I bought this clock. An alarm clock should be able to maintain the time since you might want to use it to get up on time and not be late or leave the house for an appointment and not be late. I like the sound of the alarm going off as I find that it isn't jarring when it wakes me up. It has two settings, Low and High. I find the low settings is a bit to low. It wakes me up but after it is on a while but the high setting wakes me right up without giving me a quart or two of Adrenalin. This clock is inexpensive and so far it has maintained the correct time day in and day out since the initial setting. It has been over a month and I have not had to adjust the time at all. I feel that the price I paid is well worth it to insure I am on time and I don't have to bother setting the correct time every two weeks or in some cases less. The features reflect the price you pay but they work and I am more than satisfied since the clock maintains the correct setting once you initially set it the time and features.

Loved this clock and it worked for 7.6 years without issue. I did drop it a couple times so I'm wondering if that's what caused the failure. There were a couple times the alarm didn't go off. But the biggest issue is the display--it goes dark so the time isn't visible. When I touch the dimmer control, the time will come back on, but then it will eventually disappear again, after quickly flashing. I've purchased other clocks but just don't like them as much. So I'm going to buy this clock again and hope it lasts as long as the first. It's obviously disconcerting to read all the negative reviews about the clock failing.UPDATE: Sure enough, after I left this review, the time is now visible again. Sheesh!
