Now, one could have a unlimited data plan for voice, use the hotspot on the phone for the “internet” and connect to this device OR Could purchase an stand alone modem, and T Mobile offers one. Q: Does the adapter work on 220-230 voltage? or is 110V only?

Power supply with the router says it is rated for 100-240v ~ 50/60Hz 1.0A. So it should work for the 220-230 voltage range. Plug is standard 110v so an adapter would be needed for the other plugs.

Q: how do I set up the guest network?

The guest network is a nice feature as you can operate it, with or without a password, for guests completely separately from the network you are using for your own devices. Setting up a guest network is optional, but if you do set one up, it is better to use password protection for it. Your instruction book instructs you to register your router at www.netgear.com . On page 5 of your instructions, it gives you a website for logging in to your router's account (routerlogin.com or routerlogin.net). In your instruction book, the default user id and password are provided for your first login. Once in your account (the NETGEAR Genie), it is best to change the default password. Your account screen is divided into categories both by list and by icon. One of the icons is called "Guest Access". Hitting Guest Access will bring you to the place in your account where you can 1) enable a guest network which will probably be called "NetGuest"; 2) select the level of encryption that you want for your guest network (normally the shorter of the two choices); and 3) set up a password to protect the use of the guest network (if you don't set a password then anyone within range can use it). Once you have done this then you can go into your admin icon and change your login password for your account. The guest network will show up when a device searches for a Wi-Fi network. It should show up as "NetGuest" and, if you added a password, the Wi-Fi choice will also show a closed padlock to show that you need a password to use that network. If you have a guest, you can give them that password, but you will have your separate password access to the main part of your network. The guest will not have access to that. The guest network will probably operate on the 2.4 GHz frequency while most of your devices will be operating on the 5.0 GHz frequency. It's pretty easy to set up as long as you get to the right place in your NETGEAR genie online account. Hope that helps.

Yes it does! I recommend using the rear USB 2.0 port for the printer, and the front USB 3.0 port for a storage device. I attached a 500GB USB 3.0 Western Digital My Passport drive to the front port and recorded file-transfer speeds that were from 188 percent to 400 percent faster than the Asus RT-AC66U's USB 2.0 port managed. For the first time, I can recommend using a portable hard drive connected to a router as a viable alternative to a more expensive, dedicated NAS box
