Works Well As Under-desk HDMI Switch
I have a mounted 1080p monitor above my main desk display that this switch is connected to. The monitor is used by my Mac Studio and Roku 4k Stick. When I'm working, I switch the display to the Mac Studio as a program monitor out when doing my video editing work, and switch it to my Roku when I want to stream a show or movie.I'm not pushing this thing nearly to its 8k limit with only sending 1080p to it but it's nice to have the headroom if one day I need it.I have it zip-tied under my desk just under my keyboard so the built-in button is a convenient push to get it to switch. I've had older switches in the past that where a bit weird when they switched devices, this once is clean and switches gracefully. As others have mentioned it gets super hot. So I have the power going to a power strip that I turn off at night when I'm not at my desk so it's never on 24/7. Overall I can't complain, it does what's needed.

Works as Expected
My use case is powering a flat 15 foot HDMI cable to a USB capture card and connecting to a 4K HDR TV. It does both as expected and I haven't needed to power it separately.

It simply works
I use it to switch between my personal M1 Mac and work PC (Windows). I bought a no brand HDMI switcher first but it did not work, my Mac would black out for 2s every now and then. IT DROVE ME CRAZY. I almost went insane when I tried to "fix" it with different HDMI cables and even asked seller what I did wrong (the seller told me my cables are too long, i was using standard five feet cables). My friend told me it could also be content copyright restriction issue even thought I have no idea what he is talking about.I decided to try other HDMI switchers and I will only buy from a reputable brand, I was literally mad clicking each seller to check if they have a website, then I came across UGREEN, a company I never heard of before, to my surprise, it's actually a real electronics company, not just a reseller like most other Amazon sellers. After using it for a few days, below are my thoughts:Pros:- It works as intended / reliable (99% of the time) / switching is smooth- Image quality is good- Small and compact (smaller than rival products)- The switch seems to be made of good quality- Compatible with USB C / HDMI cable if your computer only has USB C ports (my Windows PC does not have any other ports)- The ports are very deep / snug /solid. No wiggle when plugged in (looking at Mac's wiggly HDMI port).- Indicator is bright enough to see but not overly bright (everything has an indicator now, my room is too bright even after turning off the lights)- USB C power supply instead of Micro USB- Dolby Vision & HDCP2.3 compliant (I just assume this is important cuz my first one did not have this)Cons:- Switcher does not work at all without power. Some other switchers don't require power to function.- The manual says it should be powered off when not in use, but constant plugging and unplugging is very inconvenient. I always leave it on, but i'm not sure if this will shorten its life. The switch does get warm, but it's not hot.- I wish it came with two HDMI cables (a reliable rival product comes with two cables at a similar price point, I had to spend another $20 to buy cables)- When I just bought it, my Windows resolution would be very off if I unplug the HDMI cable on the Windows side and plug it back in, but restarting windows fixes the issue, but I'm not able to duplicate the issue right now. My Mac's resolution was also off for the first time today (it always worked perfectly for my M1 Mac), restarting Mac also fixed the issue. This con has really not been an issue to me.- I wish the two light indicators are not so close to each other, it's hard to tell which one is on when the monitor is off.I bought three different HDMI switchers to test them out and this is the one I plan to keep. There is a close second that switches perfectly too but there is something I don't like about it. I highlight recommend this HDMI switch. I hope the constant power supply would not cause it to die early because I leave it plugged in always.I stressed myself out finding a good product that fits my use case so I hope this review would help people who are in a similar situation.

The best 4k 120 VRR switch avail.
I previously got the llano 2.1 switch from here and while the VRR worked, the picture was noticeably degraded. There was shimmering and digital noise on the screen from that device. When I took it off and put back the hdmi directly into the TV, all that went away.Just tested Ugreens device and hallelujah it works perfect! Tested high framerate games, and all work great in VRR on PS5 n Xbox Series X. But the best thing, NO degraded picture, no shimmering, no artifacting no digital noise!! I Tested multiple games and all look identical as if they were plugged into TV hdmi. This was my biggest worry. I didn’t want to have to buy a whole new tv with multiple hdmi 2.1 ports. My bravia only has two 2.1 ports and the earc is for surround but stupid Sony made it a combo port. So you lose one.All in all. Highly recommend. I’m OCD about my gaming and sound. Will not accept any sacrifices or downgrades in these products. Thank you UGREEN. YOU NEVER DISAPPOINT. 😁😁😁👍👍👍
