Q: The height of the 4.2l says 28.7cm. does this include the lid and the top opening flap/clip? i am not sure if this is going to fit on my shelf. thanks

Yes the overall height is 28.7cm which includes the pouring spout. I found this company a good company to assist with their products, when I broke a clip, they replaced free of charge.

Q: What height is the 4.2L and 2.8L?

I wanted to know how high the 4.2ltr is stood upright (OUTSIDE height) , but looking at the answers for the 2.8ltr one , I wont get the correct value. I think they sell accurate rulers on Amazon ;o)

Q: Will it fit 600g of Rice Krispies?

Don't know but possibly not. I use it on small box of shredded wheats which it fills. Bought so that would fit into pull out mesh drawers in kitchen cupboard.
