Q: Hi.. What chain do I need to fit this saw and what file do I need to sharpen it?

This kind of chain fits Makita DUC353: Oregon 90PX52 chain (52 chain links, gauge 1.1 mm, pitch 3/8 inch). The file for that chain would be 4.5 mm round file.

Q: Hi, what replacement chain choises do i have

Most chainsaw dealers are happy to make replacement chains out of spooled chains. Just tell them that you need a 3/8 low profile, 1.1 mm chain with 52 drive links. For my Makita the local Stihl dealer made me a matching chain (Micro 3/8P, 1.1mm, 52 links)

Q: Is this a uk spec model? ie if it need repairing in the uk and I send it to makita will they reject it on the basis that its a us model?

I bought mine from N&B and it was a UK spec model -- was even Made in United Kingdom too which was rather surprising!
