You should be able to drill through the wood. Keep in mind that it is not solid wood. It is MDF which has an overlay that could be damaged with a drill. Go slow.

Q: Do these display cases protect what's inside from UV rays?

Although I don't have my display case in front of a window the seller does say it's UV safe. I can tell you it's a beautiful display case. I recently got married and put my bridal bouquet inside case. The case and my bouquet look stunning and any doubt I had at the cost was erased and would happily pay it again, it's that nice!
