Brilliant, engaging fiction for all the family
I just finished the complete series after reading for 2 weeks straight. Excellent fiction in the style of Harry Potter, imaginative, well written and totally addictive. Kids will love this and adults alike as they are swept way into the magical world of Fablehaven and the adventures of Kendra and Seth.

Fabulous
I bought this for my 10 year old son who read the first 2 books when we were on holiday in New York because it was cheaper than buying the next 3 separately. He loved the books and we have used the duplicate of vols 1 and 2 as a birthday gift. The only downside is that only book 1 is a Renaissance reading book so he can't get loads of Renaissance points for the other four!

This is an all around amazing series!
There is nothing I can complain about in this except one thing. Seth is portrayed as an obnoxious nucence. But I actually think he should have a bit more credit and a little less underestimation. I mean honestly, who got the magic sword? Seth did! Who got the cool powers? Seth did! But instead, Kendra got all the credit and all the seemingly cool actually typical and 'blah' powers!

Very Happy :)
I am thoroughly enjoying this series of books. I would recommend it anyone who has an interest (even in the slightest) to fairy tales/mythical creatures and/or magic, to try at least the first book. It's not what you would expect even with the blurb - which I think just adds to the mystery of it. Although I do think that they get better throughout the series. It was worth every penny spent.

A Page-turner
For a supposedly "children's" book this ticked many boxes. The writing was dynamic and pacey; though I found it difficult to entirely immerse myself in the lead characters for some reason, there was a great deal going on on almost every page and I thoroughly enjoyed the action and ideas expressed. The juxtaposition of fantasy and reality worked well throughout; in fact, similar to Terry Brooks' "Landover" series and his " Knight of the Word" series. The breadth of language and word play was impressive, in contrast to some other authors I have strugled with recently. All-in-all, a pretty good page-turner in my view.

Fantastic
I couldnt put these down i had to read and read . I would not consider these my kind of books and believe me it was by accident i picked them up then i found i couldnt stop. As soon as i could i ordered the lot and was so disappionted that it ended, Thats the mark of a good book to me. I recommend these highly to anyone who wants a read that is easy relaxing and draws you away from the troubled world we live in. A childs book but so was Harry Potter . Loved it !
