First impression was that this was really well made.Second impression- not so well made.When I tightened the back nut down the front bezel plate came off. The glue that holds it on just wasn't very strong.I returned and opted for a replacement, but the replacement is like a month off for delivery.Will update when I get the replacement.UPDATE: When I put in for a replacement it showed that the replacement was over a month away from delivery, but I needed the part so I had to order it. In the meantime I searched for the same type of part and finally found one that I could get in a few days instead of a month away so I ordered it. There was no option to cancel the replacement so I figured I would return both the original and the replacement when it got here. Shouldn't be a problem, right? The original was to be returned to Whole Foods so the replacement was going to go to the same place, right? Nope.The replacement came in a week earlier than expected so I submitted for a return. I had already set up for the original to be returned to Whole Foods, but Amazon wanted the replacement to be returned to a UPS drop off center which meant that I would have to drive across town to a UPS drop off center, then drive to a whole foods which isn't near a drop off center to return this part. What a pain. Called Amazon and, even though these were from the exact same place, Amazon wouldn't budge on the return. Had a very long discussion and waited on hold but Amazon decided that it was better to have a UPS driver come out and pick up the part (sometime within the week but not a definite day or time because UPS doesn't do that) instead of letting me take both parts (that are being returned to the same people at the same place) to Whole Foods.So, overall, the replacement does look like it would have worked but I decided to not leave my truck dismantled for weeks on end and found a better option. I wish I could have used this in a different project to avoid the hastle, but it is what it is. Wish Amazon would have let me return it to Whole Foods, then this would have been easily completed. Now I have to put this out on my porch each day and hope UPS comes to pick it up.

It is the only chassis mount that i have found so far that supports power delivery pass through and data as well, tested it with my macbook and usb c dock/screen, works perfecly!It is made of aluminium for the outer shell which is a pleasant surprise, the nut is plastic but that's not an issue. it is sealed and looks very sturdy.I did not find any issue with the USB connection, no wiggle disconections, it's worth every penny!

After a lot of testing I found that this socket can only be used a certain way when inserting a cable - If the cable is inserted the wrong way then no data or charging will happen so I had to mark the cable to which way it has to be inserted - Once this cable is inserted correctly you will get full data and charge speed - It's a shame as the build quality is pretty good - As you can see in the picture the CC1 & CC2 pins are not lighting up correctly this must be the reason for it not working as a USB-C should
