These sticks are great if you are looking at increasing your workout intensity for toning over the standard one-pound weights. They are also really durable (my 15-month loves to drag them around, try to chew on them, etc). One caution - I tended to use the one-pound weights a lot during the regular Zumba workouts to increase intensity, but when I did the same with these weights on some of the faster-moving workouts, particularly with a lot of large arm motions, I ended up with a very sore neck and shoulders from strain. I would advise using these heavier weights with the toning workouts and slower Zumba songs, but not for the cardio routines. I am also of a slight build and not heavily muscled so that may make a difference.

Ok, so I got this fast, I use these at Zumba, and everyone wants to know where I got them. So, now everyone is grabbing weights to try and be like me... but THEY ARE NOT THE SAME AS WEIGHTS, THEY ARE BETTER. I've used the weights when I forgot mine, and again, NOT THE SAME THING. These feel heavier for sure, but give a great workout. All the other girls are just moving their arms around, and I'm sweating buckets telling myself, just 15 more minutes, you can do it, you can do it! I first got the little 1 ponders, and after a while, you feel it, but these 2.5 pound EACH really make Zumba a better workout then without them for sure!

I had been using smaller weights when working out with the Zumba Toning videos offered on Amazon Prime and felt my workout was becoming too easy. These 2.5lb toning sticks are perfect and increased the intensity of my workouts. They were a bit pricey but with home workout gear in short supply due to the pandemic, the extra cost was worth it.
